ABOUT THERAPY

Evolve into the person you wish to be….
Stop and envision what your best self, relationship, job, life look like. Are you currently where you want to be? If not, what is standing in your way? Is it fear? Lack of time? Feel stuck? Don’t know where to start? Change can be hard and scary. But better days are ahead and we want to help you get there. You are not alone on this journey. If you are ready to get started in LIVING the life you envision for yourself, let’s get started.

Here at Evolve Therapy San Diego our desire is to partner along with you in your journey of becoming. We do so by coming alongside of you in the first session to assess what is bringing you into therapy at the present time, to understand any symptoms you might be experiencing, and to gain insight into your experience and history so that we can move forward and collaborate on therapeutic goals to help you actualize your full potential.

We are currently offering telehealth therapy which is just like therapy that is conducted in an office setting but it is done remotely using a HIPPA-secure, confidential online platform. This type of therapy offers clients the convenience and leisure to attend therapy on their computer or tablet, around their busy schedules, and at their convenience. You don't have to worry about traffic or parking and you can even wear your pajamas to therapy in the comfort of your own home. This ease of access to therapy is what clients with busy work and family lives have been asking for and Evolve Therapy San Diego is meeting this demand with convenient online sessions.

EMDR
Therapy
Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) therapy is an extensively
researched, effective psychotherapy method proven to help people recover from trauma and
PTSD symptoms. Ongoing research supports positive clinical outcomes showing EMDR therapy as a helpful treatment for disorders such as anxiety, depression, OCD, chronic pain, addictions, and other distressing life experiences. EMDR is a form of therapy where the client briefly focuses on the trauma memory, while simultaneously experiencing bilateral stimulation (typically through eye movements or tapping), which is associated with a reduction in the vividness and emotion associated with the trauma memories.

Relationship
Therapy
We are relational beings, from the cradle to the grave we seek to feel safe and secure within our relationships with caregivers and later with our partners. At Evolve we are happy to offer relationship therapy that is inclusive of all relationships. Treatment modalities used with relational partners include both Gottman and Emotion Focused Therapy. In addition to treating partners we also provide Family Therapy. Treatment modalities used include Emotion Focused Family Therapy, Attachment Therapy, and Structural Therapy.
04.
Psychological Testing
The general purpose of psychological testing is to aid in the identification of a definitive diagnosis for various mental health conditions. This helps in providing treatment management protocols (recommendations) to help you identify your strengths and weakness and to become more self-aware. The testing recommendations can help provide a road map for treatment and can assist your therapist, psychiatrist, or educational team as well. Many of these tests can be taken conveniently online and results can be provided along with a formal psychological evaluation report. ETSD therapists provide psychological testing for the following conditions:

Feeling disconnected—from yourself, your partner,
or the life you imagined? You are not broken. You are overwhelmed, exhausted, maybe even unsure how to move forward—and that is human. At Evolve Therapy San Diego, we help you slow down, reconnect, and do the deeper work of healing. Therapy is not just about feeling better—it is about growing, evolving, and becoming who you were meant to be.
PsyD, LMFT
To evolve means to change or develop slowly into a better version of oneself. That is the process that you will undergo in your therapeutic journey. You will make changes that will help you become a better version of yourself. But unlike the caterpillar that goes into its cocoon alone before emerging as a beautiful butterfly, you will have me to help guide, support, and encourage you along the way as you evolve into the person you want to be.
